  • What did you do this past week?

I had dinner with a friend who i hadn’t hung out with for a long time. I went to work out and play basketball with three of my best friends on Tuesday and Wednesday. I spent my entire Thursday night and Friday writing my Computational Brain paper. That paper was very difficult to write and I had to go talk to my TA to get inspirations. I also finished the Voting project with my partner Lauren. I watched a movie called Burning on Friday night. It was a great movie. The weather was really nice on Saturday so I went to Mozart’s coffee and then walked around Zilker park. I went out with some friends on Saturday night and then went to church on Sunday morning.

  • What’s in your way?

I’ll be relatively free in this upcoming week since I don’t have any exams or homework due. I need to rewrite my first Computational Brain paper. I also need to remember to fill out the scholarship application. I don’t think I have too many things in my way this week.

  • What will you do next week?

I will go to work on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Usually I only work on Monday and Friday but since I skipped work last Friday I’ll also go on Tuesday this week to make it up. I will work on the rewrite of my Computational Brain paper. I will also talk to my advisor about my future plans.

  • What was your experience of containerscontainer adapters and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)

I think these concepts are a little bit confusing. I could not pass the RangeIterator hackerrank on Friday. I think I still need to try to pass it because Downing said it would be on the exam. I still need to spend some more time studying for these topics.

  • What made you happy this week?

The weather over the weekend made me happy. I spent most of my Saturday afternoon walking in downtown and Zilker park while listening to my music. I felt alive when I walked in the middle of the city and the sunbeam shined on everything I saw. Going out on a day like that made me really happy. It was unproductive but totally worth it.

  • What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is going out more often. As Computer Science majors, I understand that we tend to prefer staying at home and playing video games (or coding) to just randomly walking around and accomplishing nothing. However, going out on a sunny day can make you realize how beautiful this world is and that many more things are still waiting for you to explore. Most importantly, I think wandering around the city can make you feel relaxed and it’s also a great way to enjoy the world we are living in.
