Fifth Entry: Week of 17 Feb – 23 Feb

- What did you do this past week?
I worked for 20 hours as usual at TACC. I studied a lot for my algorithm midterm and my Existentialism midterm and I think I did well on both of them. I tutored my friend David for his Chinese class. I hosted a kickback at my apartment. I went to church and bible study on Sunday and got all-you-can-eat sushi with my friends.
- What’s in your way?
The Voting Project, of course. I think I have an essay due this upcoming Friday for my Computational Brain class. I think I’ll have a lot of free time this upcoming week because I’m done with my midterms.
- What will you do next week?
Hopefully I’ll have time to work out with my friends next week. I will also have lunch with one of my friends who I haven’t seen for a while. I will finish the Voting project with my partner Lauren and complete my Computational Brain paper. I also need to fill out the scholarship application if I have time.
- What was your experience of arrays and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)
I thought the arrays were kind of intuitive. However, the iterators were a little bit confusing because there’s so many different types of iterators. The difference between read-only and write-only iterators was really hard to grasp.
- What made you happy this week?
Playing Secret Hitler with my friends made me happy this week. We had a one-hour Secret Hitler game that got really intense and everyone was arguing out loud. I’m also happy because a lot of people came to my kickback and I think I did a good job as a host because everyone had a good time.
- What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My pick-of-the-week is this board game called Secret Hitler. It’s a mafia-like game that can be played with 5-10 people. It really is a game that can sometimes ruin friendship because you can easily be fooled by your friends in this game. If you haven’t played this game before I suggest that you should give it a try.
